[mythtv-users] Display on HDTV

Anyone else have an HDTV? I have some questions.

Right now I'm using my Shuttle XPC's video out (RCA) to my TV. The
onboard tv-out is pretty lame (or I just haven't figured out the right
sis X driver settings), so I'm thinking of taking the video out from the
VGA and converting to component (R, G, B) video.

This is what I'm thinking:

1) Set the X server resolution to HDTV resolution (1080 x 607).
2) Take VGA out into a converter box ($40 or so on Ebay).
3) Use composite in on my HDTV.

Anyone else doing this? Which converter box did you buy?

Now, please note I'm not asking about recording HDTV feeds (that's been
discussed to death), but I just want to get the Myth GUI displayed at my
TV's true resolution. Right now it doesn't look very good using the
TV-out (NTSC).

One last question; anyone using the sis driver (Shuttle XPC) have some
recommended driver option settings to get the best quality? Right now I
have some weird issues with the color red slowly moving. It appears
banded, and the bands move like a slow refresh rate. Quite odd.

Thanks!
