[mythtv-users] Filesize and seek speed

Has anyone been able to tweak the settings for audio and video
compression to achieve smaller file sizes?  Currently, one hour of
recording is equal to nearly 3.5 gigs in my set up, and I haven't had
much luck with any of the settings.

Also, I'm having some problems with seeking through the video files. 
Doing the commercial skip takes nearly 2 minutes to complete, and
fastforwarding with Page Up 20 minutes takes nearly as long...any ideas?
