I think you are right about that last part, I had been thinking about 
changing the Over Time to something like "record X seconds past end of 
program" and then turn Under Time into "record X seconds before start of 
program" but I decided not to presume to much and to make my first 
patches only additions to or fixes of existing code.

I thought Isaac would probably want to change the text anyway, but if he 
seconds the suggestions I gave above (or tells me what he would like the 
text to be) I'll send in another patch.
