[mythtv-users] MythMusic won't do anything

Hi,
Well, I finally got past my soundcard problem (unresolved symbols, no sound,
etc.). I had to modify modules.conf - which I had done before - but THEN I
had to reboot (didn't know that) and use alsamixer to unmute the channels, not
kmix. Kmix said it was unmuting but it had no effect whatsoever on the actual
sound.
Anyway.... I've got MythMusic installed now and I can't get it working. I did
"import CD" just to try and see what I could do, and it rippred the CD
successfully. I edited the playlist and checked "all my music" and then went into
Play Music. My playlist shows up in the top half of the screen as usual. If I
highlight music and hit spacebar the selection turns yellow (what does that
mean?). If I hit P, the play button flashes for about a second and then turns off
again. Nothing happens. No music.
I went into my music directory (/home/video/music) and browsed the
artist/album tree until I found the MP3's that Myth had ripped. I can play these files
in other programs without any trouble.
I was previously getting errors like a messed up database ("missing rows"
"not good.") and "hey! I can't load playlists if you don't give me a hostname!"
One thing I noticed is that the filenames all have spaces in them... is that
causing problems? I tried editing the mysql database to put quotes around
filenames but myth just changed them back.
I've seen this problem around on the list before but I couldn't find the
solution.
Another question I have is how do you schedule recordings that don't have the
same times as the guide? Manual recording only lets you start a recording
right away... I want to record something overnight from midnight to 3:30 which is
not showing up in the guide. Is there something I'm missing?
Thanks,
Drew Hearle
