[mythtv-users] Possible to replace linux boot screen with a picture?

I'm not sure exactly how it's done, but take a look at Mandrake 9.1. I'm 
using it and it gives you a combination of a boot splash and boot messages. The 
splash screen has a nice logo at the top and a contoured border. However, part 
of the screen is like a little "window" in which you can see all the boot 
messages going by.  
The splash screen is just a PNG or something and you use a config file to 
define the  boot message "window". Check it out - make sure you chose at least 
1024x768 resolution  at the Xfree setup though or Mandrake won't use the 
graphical boot message screen. (There's probably a workaround but I'm not sure how to 
do it).

In my opinion it's the perfect combo of a nice "gui" and the ability to watch 
the boot messages. (my friends think it looks kinda cool ;-)
