Besides the fact that you'll likley get out of sync, MythTV thinks you are 
on one channel and the cable is on another, your solution is really only 
valid for watching live TV.  The blaster really comes into play when you 
are NOT using the remote at all.  When MythTV comes up to a scheduled 
record time, it must change the channel on the digital cable box.  Enter 
the IR blaster device.
