I have compiled it with "march=k6" for my m-9000 board, but the performanche
ist not enough for better live TV. Also you should comment out So i ordered
a pvr-250...

Also i have modified the blend file as desribed in the howto...

performanceissues)

Thanks guys, up and running now, except the system is too slow with my stock
setup.

Oddly enough the deinterlace option was on be default, of course, and the
system didn't crash! I've run into this before with my Celeron systems
running fronend, but the C3 didn't have this issue. I'm guessing the
compiler flag -march=i586 took care of this, but I haven't looked closely at
the defines used for the deinterlace code.

I'd love to hear from other people using this setup, though; Specifically
with regards to performance of mpeg2 decoding. We're using PVR-250's for
our backend on a high perf system (2.4ghz p4 with .5GB ram). I've read
about mythfrontend not handling different bit rates very well (and likewise
proved it by playing back lower bitrate video just fine with mplayer on our
fast systems), so perhaps some work is needed here to really prove the C3
will eventually work at slightly reduced bitrates; However, I'm wondering
if some of this is related to using OSS instead of ALSA, which is better
supported apparently.

Justin,

Also make sure you turn off the deinterlace option in setup
