I knew it. I knew it. I should have made a bet with Ray ;-).

Hummm. I agree. The RedHat private lists probably is not
the best choice as a link for more informatioin. The home
site for bttv is http://bytesex.org/bttv/ but there may
not be a good url specifically for this kind of question.

The FAQ also mentioned to look in Documentation/... but
didn't mention that this is in the kernel source directory.

Anyway, I found a couple reference to the Leadtek Winfast
cards autodetecting as type=5 but they really should be
type=2. Try adding a line like this in your modules.conf:

options bttv    card=34, type=2;

then "rmmod bttv", "modprobe bttv".

Sorry I didn't detail this in the wee hours last night.

I haven't managed to figure out what tuner chip type to use yet. Through
trial and error I've picked chip "2", as in insmod .. type=2. Any clues
for the clueless?

This past weekend I added a Hauppauge WinTV GO board (hey, it was free)
to this system. The bttv driver auto-detected this card, unlike the
Leadtek card (I had to specify card=34, tuner=2 for the Leadtek card).
