frames

I too have observed this increased choppiness as well. I think
something changed on or around 5/27 in CVS that rendered playback (or is
it encoding?) choppy compared to before. Ever since that time
subsequent recordings have had dropped frames lasting around 1 sec. or
so, and generally comes in bunches...
I can't put my finger on where in the code is responsible for the
choppiness coming from, but my system has had no change (HW/SW) besides
mythtv for at least two months now. I've even turned off cron to
eliminate this possibility but it still happens...

Nothing of importance changed in that time period.
