The kernel sound driver is _broken_ for that chipset.  Some stuff works, some 
stuff doesn't.  It's not a question of mythmusic working with OSS, it's a 
question of the via82cxxx_audio driver working properly with the epia-m 
board, which it does not.  The ALSA driver (at least a recent enough one), on 
the other hand, works perfectly.
