I have to ask...  I'm using a 2.4Ghz p4 - faster than your athlon - and
I can't enable any of the extra encoding options without all KINDS of
slowness going on...  Or are you just talking about general quality
settings, and not the mpeg4 enhancements that went into .10?

Then again, I'm going to go with the hardware encoder card at some
point, too..  that way, I can set up a separate backend on an old p3
system and put it in the basement with the rest of my (old/free)
rackmount stuff.
