Thanks a lot! There are some downloads, but no feedback (positive or
negative).

Why do you need to recompile kernels?
If you do return to RedHat with a solution for the alsa problem let me
know, so I can adjust the alsa rpms.

If it is 3306 it is mysql. Did you launch the daemon?
