A year or two?  I've gone through three in the same computer in the last 3 
months.  That computer has only been RUNNING for about 1 week in the last 
three months.  Not to mention, the second to the last time the power 
supply died, it took the motherboard out with it!

I'm sold on buying a decent power supply these days.  It's not worth the 
headache and overall costs I've already encountered.  In the past year 
I've probably lost 6 power supplies.  An article on Tom's Hardware 
claims the failure rates are nearly 100% within the first year.  That 
means very few actually make it a year even.
