[mythtv-users] Sound Problem - Redhat 9 + ALSA via8233

Hi,

I have just recently configured up my RedHat 9.0 box with MythTV .10.

Everything works fine, except that there is no sound!!
I have downloaded + compiled the latest snapshot ALSA driver for my
VIA8233 onboard sound card.

Sound works fine in xawtv and everything else I've tried, but not in
MythTv.

I've seen on the net, a suggested test to see if things are configured
correctly by:
running xawtv and muting the sound.
then running aplay on the /dev/dsp device to ensure the sound comes through.
aplay -r 48000 /dev/dsp

This doesn't play any sound, and I get messages "xrun!  xxxx"  with xxx
being some number of Milliseconds.

Everything appears to be setup according to the docs.

Any Ideas / Experience in what's wrong???
