If that works, ALSA works. Your problem isn't getting ALSA to work, it
is a configuration issue, no need to go and change kernels or anything
like that.

Um, so how are you getting sound from the tuner to the system? If you
don't have a cable there, you must be using btaudio, or you certainly
won't get any audio when trying to watch TV... With the cable there,
you might not have had the mixer settings right...
