[mythtv-users] MythFrontend only runs as root

   Thats your issue - mythbackend needs to fire up as root, any user can
read from the video devices, but only root will be able to write to them
(changing channels). Either fire up the backend as root, or change the
ownership of the devices files to match the user that the backend is
running as.
