XvMC will take *some* of the decoding load off of your CPU when you're 
playing back MPEG-2 content (i.e., recorded with a PVR-x50/M-179) in 
Myth.  I'm not really sure how much it helps, though I expect to find 
out as soon as I get my M-179s.
