Hi,

I'm probably the one who posted about the Alsa
drivers.
It was to fix an audio stuttering, video slowdown
issue. Nothing to do with prebuffering messages.

But, now I'm getting the prebuffering messages. I
have a backend downstairs, and am runnning
mythfrontend
on my desktop system while I work. Systems are
connected
with a Wireless G network using drivers from Linuxant,
which seem to have good performance. My NFS file
transfer rates are in the 6 - 10 Mbps range. Six
being
the slowest result I've obtained while testing. I
don't know how this equates to the data transfer rate
that MythTV obtains. A posting earlier indicated that
even if you set up NFS, MythTV does not use it in
playing video's on a remote frontend box.

I don't get these messages on my central system which
is running mythbackend, mysql, and mythfrontend all
on one box. I only see this on my remote frontend.
I don't think the alsa drivers play any part in this
problem.

Thanks,

Mike
