Sorry... I should have known better than to do this from memory...
OK, my /dev/video0 isn't a directory, its a link to v4l/video0
Do you have v4l in your kernel?
The init.d file I was thinking of was for sound support, a different
problem that you shouldn't have with ivtv cards (I hope) :-)
I'll go back to sleep now :-)
