[mythtv-users] How do I get SBLive mixer to cooperate w / ALSA

I've been running myth on Mandrake 9.1 for about 6 months. Had no
problems other than LIRC never working. This weekend, I decided to
upgrade to MDK 9.2. I saved my ALSA configuration in modules.conf
to my home partition and installed away. Afterwards, I copied my
modules.conf back to /etc and rebooted. My sound cards appear to
work, but no matter what I do, I can't get the loopthrough working right.

Symptoms: I muted and set capture on Line input.
Run XAWTV and aplay /dev/dsp in a console.
This gives nothing. IF, however, I set the CAPTURE
slider in ALSAMIXER to capture, it then plays. BUT, it's
not able to mute. SO, I have two streams, one the live one,
and one the aplay stream. If I have aplay going in the background
and turn off capture on the capture slider, I get a couple seconds of
sound, then silence. Seems to me like there's another sound path
somewhere, but I can't find it. I set the Line slider to MUTE, but it doesn't
seem to do anything. And, I looked in the archives for a couple hours, and
didn't find anything relevant. Anybody got any ideas? The whole setup worked
fine in 9.1, including the ALSA config I had going. The only thing I didn't
save for reinstall was the Alsa mixer settings, because I figured how hard
could it be right? Dummy me....

Mark
