[mythtv-users] Newbie Questions

Hello all.

I am looking into using MythTV as the basis for several HTPCs throughout my house. This really seems the way to go. I am wondering about a few things before I get started.

Here's my list of questions:

1. Using MythTV on the XBOX, can I control live TV from a PC running the MythTV backend with a tuner card (I am going to be using 2 PVR-350's and 1 PVR-250 probably in 3 different PCs)? I am guessing I can just watch previously recorded vids on the XBOX.
2. Will the XBOX v.12 play nice with the latest v.13 if I install v.13 on a PC? The docs suggest not doing this.
3. Fix Scheduling Conflicts: I see this as an option via the screenshots on the website. I intend to have multiple MythTVs on the network (see #1 above). I am curious if MythTV automatically assigns a conflicting request to another MythTV PC on the network or is this task a manual one? If it is manual, can MythTV PC #1 "see" MythTV PC #2 or does the user need to go into the other room to access MythTV #2? This is a HUGE feature enhancement to TIVO - the simple ability to "load balance" recording requests acorss multiple units on the network WITHOUT the user really knowing about it. This is directly related to the "wife factor".
4. Video sources: againm the website says multiple sources are transparent to the user. Does this mean shows recorded on PC #1 come up automatically as available on PC #2?
5. DVD Support (part 1): I see DVD menus are "coming soon" - does this mean I cannot have a non-copyrighted DVD image on a server on my network that can be viewed via MythTV?
6. DVD Support (part 2): RESUME PLAY! I have been looking at a whole slew of media appliances (MediaMVP, ShowCenter, PRISMIQ, XBMP, etc.) and *none* allow for a video source (especially a DVD image) to be stopped and truly resumed later ala TIVO. Some UIs support bookmarks, but let's face it, I am lazy and just want to hit STOP and come back later with RESUME as an option. :)

I am in the process now of lining up the necessary s/w and h/w to do a Debian install and start playing. However, if someone can answer these initial questions, it will help me quite a bit.

Thanks!
Dave
