Now that would make it easy, wouldn't it?  Unfortunately, no one seems 
to have figured out a reliable way to determine that other than 
trial-and-error.  Hauppauge is notorious for changing chips, chipsets 
and other architectural features of their boards without changing 
revision numbers.
