Yup.  I even made sure that it was loded before loading mythbackend.

Yeah, I thought of that too... I tried it but it stayed the same... seems
like it was either a problem with mythbackend or some strange state that
ivtv or the card got into.... needed a cold boot.

I did notice however, and I guess this makes sense, that when starting
mythbackend I needed to have the ivtv module loaded already otherwise it
wouldn't be able to change channels.

Another thing is that in order to do the test_ioctl's, ivtv must be
loaded, but afterwards I need to rmmod ivtv and then modprobe ivtv again
in order to actually use the card... is this normal?
