[mythtv-users] Myth Ideas

Hi,

I just wanted to start a discussion on a few ideas that i've been having
and trying to accumulate from the discussion lists.  I'd like to hear
feedback on the different ideas or stimulate some development on these, if
anyone has started something similar to these projects let me know as
well.  One of these days I'm going to set aside a bit of time to code one
or two of these up for my mythbox.

MythEmail
 - email reader, imap or pop ... use libimap ?
 - popup OSD option for TV module
 - can use it within the TV module like the recording menu, i.e. be able
to read/compose email while watching tv in top right hand corner of the
interface

MythAnsweringMachine
 - I've seen some discussion about this but no work yet has been done
 - frontend for vgetty/mgetty?
 - option to email you when someone leaves a message

MythBrowser
 - very simple web browser integrated with the TV module, i.e. surf and
watch TV at same time
 - probably pretty easy to do since QT has a lot of this functionality
already.

MythDVDDatabase
 - this would be a nice option to add to the MythDVD module
 - be able to add movies in your collection to the database and retrieve
the IMDB info as well
 - option to export or put on the web, publish web page for your database
 - can input UPC code, look it up on the web like the cuecat software has
 - integrate a barcode reader if you have one or use your webcam as a
barcode reader... this would be a very simple vision algorithm to
implement

MythP2P
 - a peer-to-peer client for other mythtv users so we can share files and
add them to our database properly
 - i.e. sharing tv shows, music, movies, pictures etc...

MythKaraoke
 - a karaoke module could be added to mythmusic, this would be cool


Any other ideas are welcomed
