[mythtv-users] OT: DVD burner or not

My main PC is a win XP, could I still do that? or do I need to install samba on the Linux box? 

Have you considered copying the TV show nuvs your MythTV box to your
main PC over a LAN whenever you want to burn something? That's what I
do.
