[mythtv-users] help compiling from source

I have MythTV running fine from RPM

I am trying to build MythTV from sources (mythtv-0.11)
for the first time and configure does not seem to be
doing much. Can anyone point me in the right
direction?

running ./configure outputs:

Please note that these settings only deal with
libavcodec, not MythTV.
CPU              x86
Big Endian       no
MMX enabled      yes
Vector Builtins  yes
lcdproc support   no
XvMC support      no
Creating config.mak and config.h

then running make outputs:

make: *** No rule to make target
`/mkspecs/linux-g++/qmake.conf', needed by `Makefile'.
 Stop.
