I'm running pretty much the same setup and I can duplicate your CPU
utilization if I leave the PVR card at 8/16 Mbit and grab full 720x480.
I get stable operation with that setup, but normally I scale things back
to 2-3 Mbit to get 1GB/HR storage and only grab 480x480. Making those
changes gets the CPU down to the 25-30% range when watching LiveTV.
But even with the CPU that low I still get at least one glitch changing
channels, about 5-10 seconds after the new stream has started playing.
Wierd and annoying but not a really major problem.
