It doesn't sound like you're actually running the new ivtv driver. You 
may have installed it, but left the older modules there, possibly in a 
different directory, especially if you installed them w/apt before, and 
the kernel is actually loading the older kernel modules.

If you installed the ivtv driver w/synaptic and/or apt-get before, try 
updating them that way, as there is a new driver on ATrpms that does 
work. I had the same problem after my initial upgrade to MythTV 0.11 
until I also updated the ivtv drivers.

To install via cli:
# apt-get install ivtv ivtv-kmdl-`uname -r`

The second part is important, or you may get the wrong kmdl installed 
(a flaw in apt as a result of the way deps are handled w/Red Hat 
kernels).

If you have always installed ivtv from source, try doing it again, but 
remove all prior traces of kernel modules beforehand.

Oh, I'm assuming you're running Red Hat Linux 9 here, though it could 
be Debian...
