[mythtv-users] Terrible LiveTV performance

What hardware are you using for sound. I was having a similar problem
for a while. I have an Asus A7N8X mobo, which is an nforce2 and has
onboard 5.1 audio with spdif out. I really wanted to use the digital out
so I setup the nvaudio driver and it worked fine for a couple days I
think, but then I started noticing that sometimes when I would start
watching TV it would go for a second or two and then grind to a halt
showing things in slow mo with no sound. I could sometimes change the
channel and would lose my sound. I found out that if I changed channels
really quickly when I first started or hit rewind really quick it was
sometimes okay, but not always. Anyway, it got extremely annoying and as
much as I'd like the digital connection the analog is working fine now.
I switched over to the ALSA drivers, which I haven't been able to get to
use my digital out, but are working great for analog. Haven't crashed
once since the change, which is much nicer. Anyway, hope this gives you
a direction to take. I'd say try switching to ALSA if you haven't
already. Oh and btw I saw the same things using the experimental AV
sync, it would play just fine, but lose the audio. Good luck with your
problem, hope this helps,

Been playing a bit and found out that by turning on the Experimental A/V
Sync,
the problems with slow-mo after changing channels is totally gone. The
only
problem is, now the sound disappears after a channel change.
