[mythtv-users] instant recording

With my current setup, I don't really use the channel options.  I have
an older DirecTV receiver and I don't have an IR blaster to change
channels for me - so I just put my reciever on the channel I want to
record.

However, with the instant recording, when I try to record I get a
database error when MythTV tries to select the channel.  (I have no idea
what channel it is really trying to get, just that the SQL statement
fails).

Is it possible that in the instance of a SQL failure when MythTV tries
to look up the program info, that MythTV would just go with the title
information that I typed in - and not totally fail?

I'd really like to be able to do "instant recording" but every time it
fails because of the database lookup.  In my case, I really don't care
about the channel information...
