Hi,

I'm using a Hauppauge WinTV bt878 (bttv card id=10) to record and have gotten everything to work in MythTV using the tuner. I've been trying to get it to work also using the satellite dish but am having trouble with the audio. The audio works with btaudio for the tuner, so I connected the satellite receiver into the WinTV card's S-Video In and the audio into the WinTV card's Line-In port. When I push "C" in MythTV, the video changes over to the satellite dish just fine. However, no audio comes through. If I plug headphones into the Line-Out jack on the TV tuner card, I can hear the audio from the satellite coming through when MythTV switches over to the S-Video input (delayed from the apparent video of course) so I know my cable connection is working fine. It just seems that the TV tuner card isn't giving the Line-In audio over to whatever part of it sends the audio over the bus so btaudio can receive it.

I'm using RedHat9 and btaudio created the device /dev/mixer1. If I open "gnome-volume-mixer" there is a tab called "Brooktree-Bt878-audio" that has 3 mixers: line1, line2, and line3. I'm assuming that the external Line-In is line1, although I've tried putting all of the sliders up and clicking the Rec. box for all of them, but no sound is outputted. I've looked all over but am not sure if there is somewhere else I need to find to unmute the Line-In on the TV card somehow. Thanks for any help,

Nick
