I haven't tried this particular adapter yet.  But I have wasted too 
much time messing with other .11b pcmcia adapter cards so I like to 
looks of this new device from linksys the WGA54G wireless-G game 
adapter.  It just plugs into your ethernet and you can use a browser to 
change the config if necessary.  So, if you can get your normal 
ethernet driver working this should just work.  I have used this type 
of device from D-link on 11b networks just fine.  It's more expensive 
than a pci wireless card but should be easier to install.  I looked on 
pricegrabber the 11b version is ~$58 and the 11g is ~$97.  I'd be real 
interested to hear what kind of video quality you get on an 11g network.
