the PVR cards both record MPEG2, and the quality is great, I've not seen
or used a Matrox Marvel card, so for the quality of the MJPEG capture of
the Marvel series, I'll have to pass.

The Matrox card will also provide a good output as well, so until the
PVR-350 decoder support stabilises and is supported by MythTV, the
Marvel may be the best solution for an all-in-one capture/playback
solution for MythTV.

I believe there is support for the marvel under linux, see
http://marvel.sourceforge.net/ for more info.
