Brief update: starting from the v0.28-pre-2996-g171f5f7 tarball I'm 
getting complaints about 'fatal: not a git repo' and 'filesystem 
boundary', but then the qt4/qt5 QJson problems much as in Yianni's 
Ticket #12399.  At present I don't know the equivalents of 'git reset' 
within rpmbuild; hints welcome, otherwise I'll brood some more.
