That shot off screen and segfaulted showing 'Please wait.'  But it works 
now - I had VDPAU/VAAPI enabled and recordings played; it's an intel Q33 
card.  Going to the 'Normal' profile gets the DVDs back.  Sorry for the

Agreed.  I was thinking more of the 'remote' bit.. but it makes sense.
