I think you may have miss understood the ticket - LiveTV is fine with an
analog tuner, its in-progress recordings that have a problem and they
involve streaming from the backend. A local frontend (i.e. on the same box
as the backend) is OK so I wondered if there are similar problems specific
to streaming where a file is being written at the same time as being read.

After the recording has finished, everything plays fine - so the recording
itself is fine.
