I provided in an earlier message the steps to follow to backport it to
fixes/0.27, there will be no conflicts if you follow those.

the changes only have an effect on the frontend, so there's no issue
running a stock backend with a frontend with the two cherry-pick

If you decide to run devel/027candidates branch however, it will work
against a stock backend but with a slight loss of performance (should
be transparent for most however)
