Also can run mythlinks.pl and put the links in a www subdirectory(ies) 
and only allow port 80 access for whatever media player they have.

For livetv its not clear the source however a hdhomerun tech or two 
might work?

Still I am sure for a computing class cracking controlling the teachers 
/ IT department may be a respectable goal for many adventurous IT 
students with kudos to boot for the first successful hacker!  What is it 
you are trying to achieve here?(!)
