This --skipdb is causing crash also in standard linux environment so 
yes, there's a bug somewhere related to handling of this option. This 
was shortly mentioned some time ago in IRC but I think it doesn't have a 
ticket in Trac.

Could you put your findings and the backtrace into a Trac ticket?
