I said that it looked like I had lost a commit (and frankly, I thought 
it was by my fault, not git's) and that I would ask our git experts (I 
was specifically thinking about you here BTW... (-; ) what had happened.

I didn't have time to investigate it further this morning (like I would 
usually have tried to) since I would have been late for work if I had 
done so and I knew there was no whatsoever risk that it would cause any 
problem.

Which is why I wanted to ask you what had happened *after* I had 
investigated the problem further...
