[mythtv] building on windows and diagnosing build problems

i build myth on windows for those in my house who will not embrace linux

right now the build is bailing out in mythvideo and i was wondering if 
somebody knew how to record the output of the build so that i can find 
out what is going wrong? as it is, the error scroll beyond reach in the 
cmd window. on linux i use script to record the build. is there an 
equivalent for windows? or is there some other tirck that i can use?
