[mythtv] What does Testdecryption?

Hi all,
I am trying to understand how myth checks if a recording is scrambled or
not. I found out that we first check via the PMT, and there is a problem
here: we check if there is one ca descriptor, but it so happens that one
of my provider has a clear channel but still puts a ca descriptor for
one stream (which is of type unknown), so myth detects it as scrambled.

But there is a second step: Testdecryption and I am not really sure
here; I would say that it just looks for packets to check if they got
descrambled (I assume here that the cam toggle the scrambled bit(s) on
each decrypted packet??).

I cant propose a patch, sorry, but I can propose the solution still ;-)
see trac 8645. Basically we need to check for ca descriptor only for
audio/video streams. I cant propose a patch because to do that you need
to pass around the sistandard (dvb or something else) which probably
means put it as a new parameter on a long call chain, and I am not too
familiar with that so if someone in the know how could tackle it I'd be
happy to test ;-)
Thx (especially if you read everything).

Bye
Manu
