I disagree, locking the ticket after several inappropriate comments would be 
closing the barn door after the horse etc. I know this is going to be a 
popular feature and anticipated that we'd see more than the one person abusing 
the ticket system to share their view.

If Bill does update the patch for trunk then a quick email to either me or the 
-dev list and we can unlock the ticket. Locking the ticket isn't an 
irreversible action and it's the only tool we have right now to prevent Trac 
being turned into a forum.

FWIW I might even help him with the UI side of it if he does show interest in 
creating a new patch, since I like the idea.

Bill - if you want to drop into IRC, #mythtv on Freenode, I'd be happy to give 
whatever assistance you need. I have some thoughts on how the UI should be 
done without the need for additional widgets and achieving the same (or 
better) effect as the current patch.
