I don't know! I thought it was best as a decoder because otherwise I'd have to 
transform it into regular AAC and thats a transformation, not a filter. i.e. 
it's adding a different layer of wrapping, not just removing it.

Perhaps I'll just fix the other problem that Micheal mentioned, and post it 
back to the list with why I think it's better as a decoder. Perhaps he'll 
accept it with that explanation.

Then we'll just need another re-sync and the mythtv part of the patch in the 
ticket. i.e. the second attachment.

Isaac, do you think that applying that part of the patch now is OK? It's not 
going to break anything, it actually fixes a bug and lays the foundation for 
the fix either way.
