BTW, I have been sent a sample of a video with the LATM/AAC codec, and
I can confirm that the patch I submitted based on your mods for 0.21
works perfectly with VDPAU.

Just 4% CPU usage and perfect quality, pretty impressive.

Your patch is a typical example of what I don't want to see happening
to me and any patches I may submit.
You submitted a patch adding an important features many moons ago, yet
it's still not been merged to trunk ; even though it has obviously
been thoroughly tested.

I think one possibility to help speeds things up is by having a
specified developer takes ownership of some particular mods

Agreed, it has made myth very unstable unfortunately and it's hard to
use mythtv trunk for anything else but a test box..

Personally, I very much dislike the new UI for the mythvideo plugins.
It seems that only 1rd of the screen is being used to display
information.
Like the file directory tree all condensed in such a fashion that most
names don't appear entirely.
