The driver is stable, VDPAU is not.

Have openend a single ticket? I can't remember when I saw the last segfault,
i.e it was a couple of weeks ago.

Patches in trac don't have to be applied to trunk. Patches for 0.21-fixes are
perfectly fine as long as they fix bugs or backport fixes from trunk. But
backports of rather large new features have a zero chance of getting
applied.

I happily close other tickets which backports features of trunk to fixes if
you provide links.
