No matter what method you use, they'll close the loophole as fast they can.
The BBC have been pretty good to MythTV in the past and a few months ago in a
press interview a BBC technical bod mentioned creating a MythTV plugin for
iPlayer as part of their plans to support linux. BBC technical staff and
representatives are regulars at linux events and some of them are even MythTV
users who I've met in person when manning the MythTV stand at LinuxWorld/LRL.
Any attempts to get around copy protection or any protection the BBC use on
iPlayer material is illegal and MythTV doesn't want anything to do with it.
Take this latest news as a sign that the BBC don't want you accessing their
material in this manner and leave it alone. Trust me when I say that the guys
behind the scenes are sympathetic but if MythTV is seen to be associating
with those attempting to break the rules then they may not remain that way.
