one change you might consider is to move the /sources directory
is, like me, you have started from scratch more than once then the 
chances are that you will have deleted mingw/msys
this will quite possibly result in the deletion of C:\msys (and all the 
downloaded stuff)

it might make sense to store them in (say) /c/<insert you choice 
here>-sources
