It is available but not widely announced. I have patches on my webpage 
and my git mirror of mythtv's svn repo is available at 
git://git.jannau.net/mythtv
The ffmpeg merges are in the ffmpeg/$REV branches.

Since there are still some issues so use at your own risk.
