The 100.14.19 drivers have some really annoying bugs relating to Xv
and XvMC; generally once you use one the other won't work until you
restart X. Usually I just get a "pink screen of death" when this
happens but on occasion it will crash my frontend. Other time I've
noticed that XvMC stops working, and stuff that *should* be playing
through XvMC such as 1080i broadcasts aren't anymore (I can always
tell, because my OSD goes back to color :) ). You might be running
into this problem or some version of it.
